Singh Foundation is seeking a skilled, reliable and solutions-focused Maintenance & Repairs Technician / General Handyman to join our Property & Facilities team.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance and handyman services across our diverse portfolio of hospitality venues, commercial properties and corporate facilities.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance & Repairs Technician / General Handyman will undertake reactive and preventative maintenance across multiple sites, ensuring our properties remain safe, compliant and operating efficiently.
You will work closely with venue managers, contractors and suppliers to complete a wide range of maintenance tasks while delivering exceptional service and workmanship.
Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across hospitality, commercial and corporate facilities.
Completing reactive maintenance requests and scheduled preventative maintenance works.
Performing minor make-good works following renovations, tenancy changes or general wear and tear.
Undertaking basic carpentry and joinery repairs, including doors, locks, hinges, shelving and cabinetry.
Completing minor painting, patching, plaster repairs and surface preparation.
Maintaining external areas, including pressure cleaning, rubbish removal and general property presentation.
Installing signage, fixtures, safety equipment and other building improvements.
Identifying maintenance issues and recommending practical solutions to improve facilities.
Carrying out workplace health and safety rectifications and reporting hazards promptly.
Conducting routine property inspections and documenting maintenance requirements.
Recording completed works, materials used and job notes through the organisation's maintenance management system.
Liaising professionally with managers, contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance requests are completed efficiently.
Supporting facility improvement projects and assisting with new site fit-outs where required.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in a handyman, maintenance technician or general building maintenance role.
Broad experience across general repairs, maintenance and building works.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing maintenance requests.
A commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
The ability to use mobile devices and digital job management systems to record completed works.
Applicants must have:
A National Police Certificate obtained within the last three months.
Confirmation of the right to work in Australia, including a VEVO check where applicable.
A current White Card.
A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
A Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
At least two years' experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role.
Experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded:
Basic carpentry and joinery.
Painting, plastering and patch repairs.
Minor tiling and paving.
Property maintenance within hospitality, commercial or retail environments.
Preventative maintenance planning.
Building compliance and WHS requirements.
Facilities management software or digital work order systems.
Trade qualifications in carpentry, building maintenance or a related trade.
